The Songs
1) It Had to Be You - Gus Kahn / Isham Jones
It had to be you,
it had to be you
I wandered
around, and finally found - the somebody who
Could make
me be true, and could make me be blue
And even
be glad, just to be sad - thinking of you
Some others I've
seen, might never be mean
Might never
be cross, or try to be boss, But they wouldn't do
For nobody
else, gave me a thrill - with all your faults, I love you still
It had to
be you, wonderful you, It had to be you
2) Melancholy Rhapsody - Ray Heindorf / Sammy Cahn
3) Star Dreams - Charlie Spivak
4) Everything I Have is Yours - Burton Lane
The more I'm with
you, The more I can see
My love is
yours...alone
You came
and captured, A heart that was free,
Now there's
nothing, I can call my own
Everything I have
is yours, You're part of me,
Everything
I have is yours, My destiny
I would gladly
give the sun to you, If the sun were only mine,
I would gladly
give the earth to you, And the stars that shine
Everything that
I possess, I offer you,
That my dream
of happiness, Come true
I'd be happy
just to spend my life, Waiting at your beck and call,
Everything
I Have is yours, My life...My all...
Let my dream of
happiness, Come true,
Happy happy,
Just to spend my life, Waiting at your beck and call
Everything I have
is yours, Everything I have is yours,
Everything
I have is yours, My life............., My......All.........
5) Misty - Errol Garner
Look at me, I'm
as helpless as a kitten up a tree;
And I feel
like I'm clingin' to a cloud, I can't understand
I get misty,
just holding your hand
Walk my way, And
a thousand violins begin to play,
Or it might
be the sound of your hello, That music I hear,
I get misty,
the moment you're near
Can't you see that
you're leading me on? And it's just what I want you to do,
Don't you
notice how hopelessly I'm lost, That's why I'm following you.
On my own, When
I wander through this wonderland alone,
Never knowing
my right foot from my left, My hat from my glove
I'm too misty,
and too much in love.
Too misty,
And too much In love.....
6) Moon Glow - Will Hudson / Edgar DeLange / Irving Mills
It must have been
that moonglow, Way up in the blue
It must have
been moonglow, That led me straight to you
I still hear
you saying, "Dear one, hold me fast"
And I start
in praying, Oh lord, please let this last
We seemed to float
right thru the air
Heavenly
songs seemed to come from ev'ry where
And now when
there's moonglow, Way up in the blue
I always
remember that moonglow gave you me
7) Speak Low - Ogden Nash / Kurt Weill
Speak low, When
you speak love our summer day withers away too soon, too soon
Speak low,
When you speak love our moment is swift like ships adrift, were swept apart
too soon
Speak low darling,
speak low, Love is a spark lost in the dark too soon, too soon
I feel, wherever
I go, that tomorrow is here, tomorrow is near and always too soon
Time is so old,
love's so brief, love is pure gold and time a thief
We're late
darling, we're late, The curtain descends, everything ends too soon, too soon
I wait, darling,
I wait, When you speak low to me, speak love to me and soon
8) The Moon Was Yellow - Bing Crosby
The moon was yellow
and the night was young
A smile brought
us together, And I was wond'ring whether, We'd meet again some day
The moon was yellow
and a song was sung
That vocal
inspiration gave me the inclination, To give my heart away!
Here we are. Is
our romance to continue?
Will it be
my luck to win you? May I look that far?
Ah! My love is
mellow and my hopes are strung,
Around that
cupid fellow, Behold! The moon is yellow, And the night is young
9) Once in a While - Michael Edwards / Bud Green
Once in a while
will you try to give one little thought to me,
Though someone
else maybe nearer your heart
Once in a
while will you dream of the moments I shared with you,
Moments before
we two drifted apart
In love's smoldering
ember, one spark may remain,
If love still
can remember the spark may burn again
I know that
I'll be contented with yesterday's memory,
Knowing you
think of me once in a while
10) Christmas Time is Here - Vince Guaraldi
Christmastime is
here, happiness and cheer,
Fun for all
that children call, their favorite time of year
Snowflakes
in the air, carols everywhere
Oh that we
could always see such spirit through the year
Snowflakes in the
air, music everywhere
Yuletide
by the fireside, and joyful memories there
Christmastime
is here, we'll be drawing near
Oh that we
could always see such spirit through the year
11) Melancholy Serenade - Jackie Gleason
12) Satin Doll - Duke Ellington
Cigarette holder
which wigs me, over her shoulder, she digs me
Out cattin',
that satin doll
Baby, shall
we go out skippin? Careful, amigo, you're flippin'
Speaks Latin,
that satin doll
She's nobody's
fool so I'm playing it cool as can be
I'll give
it a whirl but I ain't for no girl catching me, swich-e-rooney
Telephone
numbers well you know, doing my rhumbas with uno
And that'n,
my satin doll
13) Toot Toot Tootsie, Goodbye - Ernie Erdman / Gus Kahn / Ted Fiorito
Yesterday I heard
a lover sigh: goodbye, oh me, oh my
Seven times
he got aboard his train, and seven times he hurried back to kiss his love again
Toot Toot
Tootsie, Goodbye, Toot Toot Tootsie, don't cry
The choo
choo train that takes me, away from you, no words can tell how sad it makes
me
Kiss me Tootsie
and then, do it over again
Watch for
the mail, I never fail, If you don't a get a little then you know I'm in jail
Don't cry
Tootsie, Don't cry, Toot Toot Tootsie, Goodbye
14) Gone With The Wind - Herb Magison / Ally Rubel
Snow is softly
falling, From the old Magnolia tree
Another cold
winter comes calling, I can't believe you're leaving me
I watch you
from the window, Of a mansion with just two rooms
Some peaches
grow wild in Georgia, I guess you've got some growing to do
And you're gone
with the wind, You keep blowing in and out of my life again
Our neverending
love just ended again, Like a sweet Southern breeze, You're gone with the wind
I guess you'll
capture Atlanta, I bet you'll put that town on fire
A southern
belle without a ring, Is every gentleman's desire
But there's time
to turn around, And take me for what I am
Before the
rebel in me, Sets you free and says, "I don't give a damn!"
And you're
gone with the wind, You keep blowing in and out of my life again
Our neverending
love just ended again, Like a sweet Southern breeze, You're gone with the wind
Oh the cotton fields
are calling, The willows weep for you
Darling my
tears are falling, They cover Dixie like the dew
And you're
gone with the wind, You keep blowing in and out of my life again
Our neverending
love just ended again, Like a sweet Southern breeze, You're gone with the wind
15) Blue Moon - Richard Rodgers
Blue Moon, You
saw me standing alone.
Without a
dream in my heart, Without a love of my own.
Blue Moon, You
know just what I was there for.
You heard
me saying a prayer for, Someone I really could care for.
And then there
suddenly appeared before me, The only one my arms will hold.
I heard somebody
whisper please adore me, And when I looked to the Moon it turned to gold.
Blue Moon, Now
I'm no longer alone.
Without a
dream in my heart, Without a love of my own
And then there
suddenly appeared before me
The only
one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody
whisper please adore me
And when
I looked the Moon had turned to gold
Blue Moon, Now
I'm no longer alone.
Without a
dream in my heart, Without a love of my own
