The Rumble Down Under

Hey!

Congrats, you've reached the website of Gerald Adams, Winnipeg-based Trumpet Player, Artist, Cycling / Biking guy, Runner and Spiderman Jazz music fan. On the business-side of things, he calls himself a Visual Media Artist who produces logos, photographic images, multi-media, web-based content and copy writing. THERE, with all that SEO stuff out of the way, thanks for checking out the website. Some recent-ish stuff goin down...

Fall, 2009

  • Some hiccups on the way to the goal weight - battled a summer cold and a terrible bout of poison ivy - only 15lbs more to go.
  • Looking forward to taking the "worlds longest skating rink" to work from the Forks again this Winter - super fun! Even though I lost the tip of one toe to frostbite last year. Those minus 47 degree mornings are brutal (the toe finally grew back...).

November 2008

  • Great summer, lotsa riding, lotsa running, personal bests all over the place. Dropped 30+ pounds and back into my skinnies.
  • Only did one "sanctioned" event this year (and it really wasn't even officially sanctioned - ha) - the Nike World run at the end of August. Came in 8th place and PB for a 10km. That was quite fun.
  • Orchestra is full swing, getting the chops back. Winnipeg christmas concert series starting soon...

August 2008

  • Finally got my bike rebuilt - a Trek 8000, 1998-style Whoo Hoo!! It's absolutely great! It's the baby blue frame with the bright Red Manitou fork. Ha ha - the shop hates it but I love it!
  • Running is going well, thinking about the Nike World run at the end of August. It's free PLUS you get Brunch! Mmmmm, brunch...
  • Orchestra season is almost here - time to dust off the Bach and get serious about practicing again. Spent too much of my summer playing around with Dm7 and Gm on the piano. They're awful pretty but do they help pay the bills?
